You'll find exactly the right look in the Hartford York selection of men's casual straw hats. Once you determine the event, you choose the hat. Evenings at the beachside cabana might call for our little Breeze Ascot, an ivy cap from Bailey, or this Scala raffia and ribbon weave (called The Grady Cap), while summer in the city is well served with those Borsalino straws, The Baku Porkpie, The Sicilian Fedora, (known affectionately as our hemp hat), and of course, The Baku Fedora. If you're anything like me, your casual vacation hats take a beating: they're rolled up, they're packed and unpacked, and once in a while even stomped on. You can enjoy all that and still look great in crushable raffia hats like The Tropic Leisure from Scala. In fact, with touches like the palm trees with pineapples trim on their gambler hat (The South Seas), the big brim of The Lifeguard, and a very sharp braided raffia hatband dressing up The Raffia Summer Hat, even your most casual look is sophisticated. Please note, however, that it is highly unlikely that the hard lacquer-finished straw of The Boater, will be quite as forgiving as the hand-crocheted raffia -- in other words, I wouldn't sit on the skimmer.

What's considered informal to some may be haute to others, but I'll put out our stunning collection of panama straw hats for your consideration nonethless. The Montecristi hats take some study, because the handweave of one Aficionado is not quite as fine as that of its more expensive counterpart. Same goes for the Brent Black fedoras: The Classic One and The Classic Two. Quite a conundrum, eh? Well, let me toss another hat your way -- The Optimo, a panama hat from none other than The Panama Hat Company. This hat's woven in Ecuador, where they call it 'the Natural'.
I hate to see grown men cry but I've got more hard choices for you too: let's start with a Makins straw fedora, made from sewn braids of terracotta, coral and leghorn stripes (being the colors of a glorious desert sunset). Not to be ignored, of course, Milano gallops into the straw hat picture with westerns and cowboy hats for men. They've got El Jefe (which means "The Boss"), The Riviera (that's the one for the rancher with everything, except a hat), The Straw Casablanca (a western hat this side of perfection) and The Cowboy (named thusly to prove its western authenticity, or simply because they ran out of names).
I could go on, you know. But since I'm off to safari in the Copacabana, I'll save it.
