If there's not at least one canvas hat in your collection of summer hats and cotton safaris like Scala's 100% cotton mesh hats, The Carson, then your hot weather expeditions and adventures have suddenly become so much less stylish. Think about it: how can you possibly sneak into the pyramids, fall off the Uluru (again) in the Australian Outback or have yet another go at our own Grand Canyon without the proper Expedition Hat? Wherever in the world you are, desert sun protection is as imperative as the dashing Livingstone look. You not only get broad brims for cooling shade, but also mesh crowns to catch every hint of a breeze. Sure, summer's grand and hiking's healthy, but without a good-looking walking rex, you'll end up with sunstroke, rosacea and bleached fly-away hair (or in some severe and embarrassing cases, scalp burn). Don't take chances. Wear your hat. Cover your head. Remember, you only feel as good as you look. (Or something like that.)
